Yalimo – Clear skies welcomed children in Yalimo Regency, Highland Papua, on Sunday (February 9, 2025). In an open field, they gathered enthusiastically for a football training session led by Yalimo Police Operations Chief, AKP Francis J.P. Wardjukur, accompanied by personnel from the Ops Damai Cartenz Task Force. As a former Persipura player, AKP Francis shared his knowledge by coaching basic techniques such as dribbling, passing, and shooting.

This activity aims to encourage children to stay active, healthy, and motivated in sports. The participants showed great enthusiasm in following the instructions, with some even aspiring to become professional footballers like Persipura players.

The Head of Public Relations for Ops Damai Cartenz 2025, Police Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, viewed this event as a positive step in strengthening relations between the police and the community.

“We hope these children grow up in a positive, healthy, and safe environment,” he said.

AKP Francis added that the situation in Yalimo remains safe and peaceful, expressing his hope that sports activities like this will continue.

“We want the children of Yalimo to have spirit, sportsmanship, and discipline in their lives,” he stated.

As a token of appreciation, AKP Francis gave footballs to children who showed enthusiasm during training. They promised to keep practicing and improving their skills. This activity not only benefits their physical health but also brings joy to the children of Yalimo and strengthens the bond between the community and the police.
